Lorde and I are BFFs, I’m one of her thousands in crowd. She acknowledged my cheers with a point and a smile, completely honoring my love and respect for her. Megaphone to her chest, she broadcast the boom boom boom boom and make ‘em all dance to it (“The Louvre“, Melodrama). She was so into it and so was I. It was glorious. Her grand entrance was anti-climatic and super sincere; baring her open and honest SELF with the perfect balance of humility and confidence, entering at a pace showing her absolute excitement to be in San Francisco performing for her Sunday Outside Lands crowd. Lorde understands herself as an ever-evolving woman in a crazy world. It’s apparent in the lyrics she sings with whole-hearted genuine emotion and resounding voice. No denying the talent, this woman sings without holding anything back. She walked on stage with unbounded energy and left with minimal reserves, even asking the crowd to give a little bit back so she can give it right back with “Green Light“. ..
Taeyang made his third stop of his 2017 World Tour White Night at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on Sunday, September 3rd. The theater buzzed with anticipation as the show began. The screams of fans nearly drowned out the start of “White Night.” The track was a voice over with only the live band on stage and a beautiful video of the sky, clouds, and stars played on the screen at the back of the stage. The opening song seamlessly transitioned into “Ringa Linga“, with Taeyang appearing on the second level tier of the stage. He practically glowed in the stage lights in his all white ensemble that fit the White Night tour theme. He commands the stage, even as he is joined by his male back up dancers. The backup dancers didn’t only add to his performance, it helped highlighted his stage presence. Taeyang pauses after the song to say hello and hype the crowd. “Y’all ready? I can’t hear you. Chicago you all ready?” Fans scream and wave their BIGBANG lightsticks, the yellow lights looking a ..
Need to catch up on the hottest stories in music? Check out the latest with this week’s On the Radar. Pink shows why she’s awesome with touching VMA speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_gA5vkJJc4 The VMAs were pretty lackluster, as usual, but one moment that got everyone buzzing was Pink’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard acceptance speech. She took to the stage and shared a story about her daughter saying she’s ugly because she looks like a boy. After joking about kicking a six-year’s old ass, she continued: “But I didn’t say anything. Instead, I went home and I made a Powerpoint presentation for her. And in that presentation were androgynous rockstars and artists that live their truth, are probably made fun of every day of their life, and carry on, wave their flag and inspire the rest of us. And these are artists like Michael Jackson and David Bowie and Freddie Mercury and Annie Lennox and Prince and Janis Joplin and George Michael, Elton John, so many artists — her eyes glazed..

Chicago staple The Alley returns from the dead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTRafe3ze3U The closing of Chicago staple and haven The Alley was a sad day in Chicago. People from all over and of all ages mourned the passing of their favorite store. Owner Mark Thomas promised it wouldn’t be the end and vowed to have the store come back in a new fashion. Seems like he kept true to his word as The Alley 1776 opened up last weekend. Sitting at 3223 N. Clark, right across the street from their old location, the new shop has same rock n roll attire and kick ass shirts everyone loves, but with a new perspective. The Alley pop-up shop sits on the second floor while the first floor is housed by a coffee shop. First EVER Return of the Star Tribes: Devotion to the Sky A production by the Seven7Sisters: Messages from the future It’s evident. People are looking for the meaning of life. Yet resistance holds us in a state of bewilderment, wonder and FEAR. I found the rabbit hole Saturday August 5th during the Seven7Sisters Ceremonial Stage Performance Featuring: Starsinger, Serena Gabriel, Melissa Edwards, Sasha Rose, Adriana Magana, Adi Shakti, Kimberly Bass, Amber Ortega, with special guest appearances and mother drum support by Windwalker and the MCW at the Center For Spiritual Living Greater Las Vegas, 1420 East Harmon Avene, Las Vegas, NV. When I mentioned I was coming to this “Return of the Star Tribes: Devotion to the Sky” sacred ceremonial retreat event, I received many different reactions. The people I least expected were curious, others would clench up or shutdown, not wanting to know more. I knew the connotations of being associated with what is perceived by attending an event like..
On Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 7:30pm, at the Center For Spiritual Living Greater Las Vegas, Seven7Sisters put on a ceremonial stage performance during “Return of the Star Tribes: Devotion to the Sky” sacred ceremonial retreat featuring Starsinger, Serena Gabriel, Melissa Edwards, Sasha Rose, Adriana Magana, Adi Shakti, Kimberly Bass, and Amber Ortega. It was a performance of the ages. Each of the Sisters sat on stage with their crystal bowl, blue lights illuminating their faces reflecting off the all-white they wore. I can’t say I was perplexed Saturday night, but the word to describe it would be just a step down, bewilderment perhaps. I could never have predicted such a performance. The effects were quite brilliant. It was classic, yet alarming. Stage effects through strategic use of shadows, lights, and excellent graphic visuals made for a mystifying experience. It was a telling tale of inter-galactic travel, entering the fifth dimension, a physical state of being in the past, pr..

What’s on the radar this week? Jack White talks new album, TRL makes a comeback, hot Chicago shows, and more. MTV’s TRL is coming back? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cfXqdro1v8 Remember TRL? MTV’s hit video countdown show with celebrity guest stars and fans screaming so loud you couldn’t hear the video? Apparently, the show is about to make a comeback. The show will make its official return in October and yes, it’ll return to its original studio overlooking Times Square. Carson Daly won’t be returning as host. Instead, the show will feature five co-hosts who will switch off time to time. Right now, the plan is for the show to air an hour day, but the network hopes they can expand it to two or three hours going forward. With MTV rarely focusing on music these days, it’s hard to imagine how well the show will do in the age of Youtube. But it’s exciting for anyone who grew up with the MTV classic. If you want to relive some TRL moments, check out the video above. Jack White is rec..
